NORWAY

Norway is a country lying west of the Scandinavian half-island. Norway borders to Sweden, Finland and Russia. Oslo is Norway’s capital.
It lives 4,700,000 people in Norway.
Norway has a fine nature and many mountains over 2000 metres. The tallest mountain is called Galdhøpiggen and is 2469 metres. There are also many fjords in Norway. Norway is well known for the Vikings.

Norway’s coastline is more than 2500 km long, and the country is smaller than 6 km on the narrowest.
The coast is full of narrow fjords that were made during the last iceage.
In the country there are many small mountains and woods, with plains in the middle of the country.
The climate is warmer than the location looks like, because of gulf swiftly-flowing water on the coast.
Norway is one of the countries that have most CO2 discharge per person.
This is because of a growing industry.
The discharge has risen steady the last year, but the country has signed the Kyoto-protocol and is bound to discharge reduction within 2012.
